Essay / Financial Stability and Ethical Practices in Nonprofits...
In business, creating a culture of ethical behavior and productivity are two of the most important elements of daily operations. Opinions differ on how to establish these standards. There is a universal standard in which human rights are general and should apply to every human being or have a unique standard of practice (Hugh, MC, 2002). For example, an organization could create a set of universal, standard ethical norms to apply to its members. However, the opposing view is cultural relativism, according to which all values are only meaningful within specific cultures (Hugh, MC, 2002). In other words, each culture defines what is right and what is wrong. Applying this to business, an organization can create ethical standards specific to its line of services and provide clarity to members about their services, behavior and social relationships..
