The original and wildly popular chicken sandwich, made only at Chick-fil-A, requires no fancy ingredients; however, it requires the right ingredients and a precise process. Almost every time I tell someone I work at Chick-fil-A, I hear in response, "I love this place." For me, it's very reassuring to know that they are doing something right. The Chick-fil-A sandwich has been made the same way for forty-six years. Although these are just a few steps, if one of them is not done correctly it can change the entire outcome. Three years ago, I discovered the process of making this one-of-a-kind sandwich. I would now like to share this process with you. The Chick-fil-A sandwich was first invented by Truett Cathy in 1964 in the kitchen of his restaurant the Dwarf Grill. It started as a simple addition to the menu, but its popularity quickly grew and its potential was evident. When you go through the process of making a ready-to-eat Chick-fil-A sandwich, it takes two days. The chicken used has come from the same suppliers since the start of the business. Each case contains six six-pound bags of frozen fillets. Once a new case of fillets is needed, they will be removed from the freezer and prepared for thawing. You will need to disassemble the crate and place two six-pound bags on a tray. The tray is then placed in a specially designed defrost cooler. In this cooler the temperature is a constant forty degrees and the fillets will stay there for approximately eight to ten hours. The chicken is an all-white boneless chicken breast, pre-weighed and lightly seasoned. Once the chicken breast has been reweighed and checked that it is the correct size, it is stripped of fat and opened into fillets...... middle of paper ...... to sit and enjoy the tasty original chicken-fil-A chicken sandwich. The simpler the better and this chicken sandwich is proof. All you need is a good idea, good ingredients and a product that you can produce over and over again with the same quality. From my experience, anyone can do it. You don't need elaborate training. All you need is some self-discipline to ensure that every time you make this sandwich, you follow the process described from start to finish. One of my favorite comments from customers is that no matter what time of day or day of the week they come, they always get the same quality sandwich. Now that you know this process, you won't have to wonder what's so original about the Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich but you'll definitely enjoy every bite..
