  • Essay / The Great Gatsby - 1017

The caring and selfless facade that all of Gatsby's friends, except Nick Caraway, displayed throughout their period of friendship with Gatsby was revealed to be a lie then that Nick is the only person who even bothered to do it. show up at Gatsby's funeral. It's a story that makes you re-evaluate your life, your dreams, your goals and especially the people you consider your friends. Daisy never loved Gatsby the way he loved her. This is proven time and time again throughout their relationship. It is also the story of two very different men who find common ground and become best friends. In all honesty, the best we can do is accept the “hand we’ve been dealt” and do our best to make a better life out of it. You are responsible for what you do with your life. It comes down to the choices we made. Life has a funny way of showing your true colors to the world. A facade is absolutely worthless when you're on your deathbed and there isn't a single person who will care and be there to comfort you. It is then unfortunately too late to do anything. Pay attention to the way you live, because it will define who you are and who you will be known as..
