Essay / London Family Trip - 847
London is a great place to travel, with history simply coming to life as you walk its streets. The city has been through so much and today is the capital of the largest empire in the world. It offers a wide range of attractions and historical/cultural opportunities for family vacations. A family trip here would benefit everyone with the experience and education that we would cherish for the rest of our lives. To start the trip, the total is $6,488.00, which includes round-trip airfare, accommodation, transportation, and spending money. The flight will be on US Airways and each person will cost $1,055.00. Departure and return flights make one stopover before returning to their destination with a layover of at least one hour (“Cheap Fare Guru”). Once in London, the change of $1.67 is equivalent to that of a single pound sterling. For accommodation we will be staying at the Mowbray Court Hotel at 28/32 Penywern Road, Kensington and Chelsea, London. The cost is £119.17, which equates to $1,175 (“Reservation”). The best way to get around London is on foot as most major attractions are within walking distance from the hotel. Other means of transportation include the metro, bus, or even a taxi. The quickest way, however, would be to take the metro. To get on the metro, you would need to obtain an oyster card (“Getting Around”). Children under 11 can travel free on buses and trams at any time, while children aged 11-15 must pay the child fare, but can get an 11-15 year old oyster photo card for travel for free. Adults pay the adult fare and can get an Oyster Photo Card ages 16 and up to travel for half price. The total for 4 children's cards zones 1-3 and 2 adult cards zones 1-3 is £73.60, or $123.10 at the city's information center ("Travel C...... middle of paper......two very important words.
