Essay / America's Education Crisis - 833
America's education crisis has been neglected and ignored for far too long. Recognizing that young people are the future of our country should be a priority and a government initiative. By providing the help students and teachers need to succeed in the classroom, we eliminate all excuses for not succeeding outside of the classroom. If the government provided more funding to state and public school systems, implemented reward systems for teachers who excel at their jobs, and also created more educational options for students; the country would see an increased interest in high school and the continuation of this education. Teachers are some of the most important people in our school system. The majority of teachers in this country do not earn the money they should. The job of a teacher is very demanding and frustrating on a daily basis. By implementing reward systems in high schools, the school demonstrates its appreciation to teachers. Rewards can be as simple as recognition for something the teacher has done. “Recognize the value of employees by delegating functions according to skill level. Employees who are neglected in the distribution of functions often become indifferent to the achievement of school objectives” (Wali, 193). By offering a teacher or faculty member some free coffee in the morning, you can make a difference to a teacher and let them know that you care about them and the students. It's small actions like these that can make staff happy and also be very affordable for the school. When you don't show everyone that they think the same thing as every other teacher, it makes them lose focus on what they're there to do. They forget the goals of the administration and supervisors above them. Come on... middle of paper... but the education system should be the first act of movement. When you compare our education system to China's mainstream education plans, you can see that we still have a long way to go. The government must recognize the problems facing our education system and its future. By solving problems such as the lack of funds that public school systems seem to face, it is possible to turn things around. Giving teachers more rewards for completing the work they choose to undertake can help change the attitudes of staff and teachers. Recognizing their importance can help them want to achieve the goals that the administration has set for them. Additionally, by adding more options for high school students, it should increase attention and, above all, interest in school. By doing all of these things, government can actually help turn the crisis we face into something to celebrate..
