    Jackie Robinson is one of the most famous major league baseball players of all time. Throughout his career he faced many obstacles that would have broken anyone else, but Jackie was an obedient young man who remained strong until the end of his career and won the respect for his enemies. Jackie had something about him that set him apart from everyone else. He was a young black man who had the talent to surpass any white man who stood before him. Being black gave Jackie a horrible disadvantage not only against white people who weren't as good as him, but also against white players who gave him competition. Jackie faced horrible discrimination not only from white fans, but also from some of his teammates. Although some white people supported Jackie, whether they were fans or even a few teammates, he still received an overwhelming amount of criticism that had a bigger impact than some people could see. Jackie Robinson is one of the most influential people in the world. the civil rights era because he entered major league baseball, earned the respect of those around him and became one of the best players of all time. Jackie Roosevelt Robinson was born in Cairo, Georgia on January 31, 1919 and lived with his family in poverty for most of his life. Jackie grew up with five siblings (which I think gave him the strength to play baseball with all the threats and vulgarity he received during his career). One of Jackie's most famous brothers, Matthew Robinson, was the one who most inspired Jackie to pursue her athletic career. Matthew, himself, won a silver medal at the 1936 Olympics behind Jesse Owens. Jackie started her high school years at John Muir High School.
