Get the original essay When I first walked into the classroom, everyone turned their eyes at me because I was late while the teacher was taking attendance. Saying “hello” to him, I sat down in my seat with embarrassment. To my left sat a girl with brown eyes who seemed rather thin and petite. The most notable feature I noticed was her pretty round face with thin pink lips. As soon as I learned her name which was Katy, we quickly became friends. Over time, our friendship grew and grew every day. I learned a lot about her like her drawing skills, her hobby, etc. When the first exam was given to us, we both received poor grades. I was so sad that my parents were disappointed in me, but then I saw a comforting smile on Katy's face. She said: “Ah! We got a very bad grade. Well, I guess we both have to try harder from now on. There is still a long way to go so we have the opportunity to improve these grades.” Suddenly, I felt all the depression disappear as the corner of my lips curled into a smile. Even though her grade was worse than mine, I was ashamed to think like her in a negative way instead of a positive one. She was such a sweet girl and a great friend.
