Not only did Wright possess genius skills in spatial cognition, but his approach to architecture through geometric manipulation demonstrates an aspect of his creativity. A lifelong businessman, Wright seemed to know how to please his clients and continued to produce some of the most innovative and ridiculed buildings of the turn of the century. When the United States seemed stuck in the Victorian style, Frank Lloyd Wright rose to the challenge of creating "American architecture" that would reflect the lives of the rapidly growing population of the Midwestern United States. Howard Gardner in his book "Creating Minds" makes no mention of Frank Lloyd Wright, an innovator who radically influenced 20th century architecture around the world. CHILDHOODBorn in 1867 in Wisconsin, Frank Lincoln Wright grew up in the comfort and influence of Welsh heritage. The Lloyd-Jones clan, on his mother's side of the family, would have a great influence on Frank throughout his life. Unified in faith, the extended family lived in close proximity to one another, allowing for a strong support system for those born or married into the clan.
