It is said that technology is transforming our world into a global village, and this is true to a certain extent, but even now, if we move from one city to another, we can feel the difference in language, culture, lifestyle and many more. In my case, I moved thousands of kilometers from my country, Pakistan. The differences are unimaginable. I was born in a very large house with 5 bedrooms, 2 living rooms, 2 kitchens, large lawns in front and back, servants' quarters and a few servants serving my family. It wasn't like that because we were very rich or millionaires. It simply represents a middle class house in my country. My grandmother used to wake up before sunrise and open all the windows and doors for fresh air and for the rooster's voice. Then she was used to sitting on a very low table with many colorful round pillows, telling the servants what to do and peeling vegetables or cleaning rice. The house was cleaned from top to bottom every day. For lunch, long red and white patterned tablecloths were placed on the floor and all the ladies of the house ate together. My mother made bread in a special underground oven. The men usually came home in the evening and dinner was a big event since everyone was supposed to be there. Things haven't changed much now. I grew up in a very conservative town where girls had fewer rights and were raised with the idea that our primary purpose is to marry and serve our husbands, ensuring that our household functions in the best way possible....
