  • Essay / Romeo and Juliet in the years 1500 - 1450

The friar gives Juliet a potion that makes her appear dead for about two days. The two days will give Romeo enough time to visit him in the Capulet vault. The brother told him that he promised to inform Romeo of the plan for their meeting. Juliette then returns home and drinks the potion that the brother gave her to drink. She drank it that night because the next morning was her arranged marriage to Paris which she didn't want to go to. The nurse enters her room and realizes that she is dead. The entire House of Capulet is saddened by his suicide. Friar Laurence comes and tells the Capulets to put her in the vault as soon as possible. Brother John was supposed to give Romeo the letter which explained to him the plan developed by Brother Laurence and Juliet. Brother John was unable to deliver it to Romeo and therefore had no idea of the plan. Romeo's servant then announced to Romeo that Juliet had died, which deeply upset him. Romeo then returns to Verona and the first thing he does is buy poison from an apothecary. He then writes a suicide note talking about the tragic events he attended.
