  • Essay / Ferguson Unrest: Analyzing Officer Wilson's Acquittal

White explains in his book: "Following the implementation of the body-worn camera program [2012], citizen complaints against the police decreased by 88 percent , compared to 24 in 2011, a year before the study, with just three complaints during the camera project's study period. Additionally, police use of force dropped 60 percent, from 61 to 25 cases, following the start of the body-worn camera study” (White 20). While complaints and use of force decreased significantly a year after the implementation of the body camera, it is fair to say that the body camera is changing the way police officers interact with police officers.
