The US-Mexico border is a line drawn on a map and so are many other borders around the world. This line can mean a difference on either side which can be a difference from black to white. Within the U.S.-Mexico border, as well as in other countries, that border is usually the difference between the United States becoming a superpower that entitles people to things like a better life for the people, a better life, better conditions, more rights, etc. On the Mexican side of the border people live in conditions such that the differences in life are astronomical, people there are starving and living day after day in situations. Americans here earn a minimum wage of $7.50, compared to a Mexican wage of 54.80 pesos, or about $4.18 U.S. dollars. Native Americans settled all along the frontier that stretched from the western ocean to the Gulf of Mexico. . When the Spanish came and conquered much of the Mexican and American lands, there was a mixture between the 2 cultures who would become known as Meztinos and practice a combination of religions and cultures. There was great ethnic diversity from Jews to blacks and Chinese. When World War II broke out, the U.S. government needed an agricultural society since many Americans went to war. This was called the Brancero program and generally lasted from 1942 to 1964, which was primarily for seasonal work. But when the time came for Mexicans to return home, the numbers didn't account for the timing of their return. Many stayed on the American side to inhabit this culture and live a better life with a salary. Programs such as the Mexican National Border Economic Development Program from 1961 to 1965, ...... middle of paper ......,086 bodies had been scattered since 2004 in the deserts along the Mexican border with the United States. Americans are said to prefer to see a virtual line rather than a physical line, which a poll was collected by CNN News and Michael Chertoff announced that he would also like to see the virtual fence to replace the physical fence. The fence is currently complete from San Diego to Yuma.
