Essay / It's not that bad - 748
In today's society, people can spend more than half their lives maintaining relationships with each other. As humans, we are biologically enmeshed in one another and ultimately long for an eternal bond and commitment in marriage. When we move from adolescence to adulthood, certain terms are no longer appropriate to designate the opposing figure in a relationship. An adult man should not address his female counterpart as girl but as a title of maturity and sophistication. Calling her his mate gives him that feeling of maturity but also adheres to the openness of the relationship. The word companion first appears in his 6th-century translation of the Gothic Greek word gahlaiba meaning "classmate". (1.) As for common time, it is defined as a person with whom you are frequently in company and/or a partner or partner in something. (2.) Sometimes people find a special connection with someone and enjoy spending time with them. This doesn't mean that they are infatuated, but that they get something positive from their interactions. Fulfilling this desire can be as simple as a once-a-week dinner or as extravagant as a place to stay. Being between childhood adventures and marriage, it can become difficult to understand and judge the seriousness of a relationship. The titular wife projects a long-term commitment while saying nothing is lacking in significance. When you're involved with someone, there's always some sort of entitlement towards each other. One must be able to address the other by showing that there is indeed an involvement and that the others must take note. By choosing to be companions, you acknowledge that feelings exist, you accept them, and you participate in a diminutive commitment. You both respect...... middle of paper...... an adventure or a crush, there is a certain property that initiates a feeling of want and desire. In doing so, there must be a median for which this person can be addressed. From a very young age, the term boyfriend/girlfriend corresponds well to the level of maturity of it among takers. Children and adolescents are just that, boys and girls. When referring to adults, these terms lack the adult nature of the relationship. Not that the company has to be completely adult-oriented and in an austere way, but that the title should reflect maturity. Works Cited (1.) Harper, Douglas. Dictionary of etymology.
