South Africa was positively affected in that before the Dutch and the British, South Africa had been divided into many different tribes, who, although free, were not united. Over centuries of difficulties, South Africa emerged very strong from apartheid and the ANC has maintained a popularity of 60% in all elections since 1994. Economically, South Africa is is flourishing and is the second largest economy in all of Africa and has managed to triple its GDP even though it has been less than 30 years since it left apartheid, established democracy and freed itself from numerous international sanctions . South Africa's economy still faces many problems, as it is still an underdeveloped country that suffers from lack of education, employment and crime. Socially, South Africa remains strong because it is united under a single goal: to make its nation great again, and it has preserved its heritage and culture. In fact, a quick glance at a South African site will show many articles and memorials from days gone by recalling the struggle for freedom. Politically, South Africa has remained strong and united, with the ANC still holding the vast majority of votes and using a system of government quite similar to ours with a separation of powers and a thriving democratic system. Fortunately, political diversity has also started to emerge with many other groups appearing to make the most of South African democracy and all promising freedom and being led by indigenous people..
