Just like Matt from Quchronicle stated, sports are hobbies that everyone wants to do and people will do it regardless of their income. It's true that athletes have fun and make money doing it, but that doesn't mean they should be discredited for what they do. Just because they make money doing something fun doesn't mean they should be considered overpaid. Even if they're doing something fun, there are a lot of things athletes do that remain invisible. They have to do promotions for companies, be role models for many people, and undergo a lot of intensive training. None of this is seen in the media. The only thing people see is them playing a ball game and shooting hoops. People should admire them instead of envying them. Yes, they play a sport, but no one really understands the work they do behind the scenes. This is why Matt's statement and everyone who agrees with him is incorrect. People can't do what they do.
