    “I have learned over the years that when you make a decision, it lessens fear; knowing what to do eliminates fear. December 1, 1995 was a day of change. Rosa Parks took a stand against cruel humanity through her words and actions. She was a courageous woman who saw the unfair treatment of black people and was fed up, so she decided to do something big. She knew something had to be done. Even after taking a stand in support of the Montgomery bus boycott, she performed many other acts as an American civil rights activist that had a tremendous impact on many lives. Although some despised her, many admired her as well. Rosa Parks was born February 4, 1913, in Tuskegee, Alabama. After his parents divorced, his mother moved with her family to live with her parents on their farm. Before, they were both slaves and were in favor of racial equality. This is where she spent most of her youth (Rosa Parks). In 1932, she married Raymond Parks, a barber and active member of the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People). Shortly after 1933, she became interested in helping with civil rights issues, so she joined the Montgomery portion of the NAACP. She was also secretary until 1957 (Rosa Louise McCauley Parks). Throughout her life she worked as a seamstress, she attended the Industrial School for Girls and the Alabama State Teachers College for Negros (Rosa Parks). Later, throughout her life, she played major roles in other activist roles. She died on October 24, 2005 in Detroit, Michigan (Rosa Parks). Then, on December 1, 1955, Rosa Parks took the city bus from Montgomery, Alabama, home from work. It was a normal day and the bus was full. Rosa Parks stood for freedom and equality and was middle of paper... known as the mother of the American civil rights movement. She received numerous awards throughout her life, such as the Congressional Gold Medal and the NAACP Spingarn Medal. She has a library named after her and there is also a museum where she was arrested. (Rosa Lousie Parks)Rosa Parks had a great influence on American society. Even though some people weren't supportive of what she was doing, most were. She died a great woman, helping many people and participating greatly in the civil rights movement.
