    For my lesson plan, I decided to create a math activity that every student in the class could do (most need help). Since this is a special education class that serves students of varying academic levels, this required some flexibility when planning lessons. Although I wanted the activity to be fun, I also wanted it to be a challenge for each student. I felt like a Thanksgiving theme was appropriate and would add to the fun of the activity. Each child received a paper plate and a paper bag filled with a cut-up turkey and a specific amount of feathers. Some children had feathers with the numbers 2, 3 or 5 on them. (I explained to these children individually that these numbered feathers indicated that they would have to count by 2, 3 or 5 to find their number.)
