I started reading 'The Vanishing of Katharina Linden' by Helen Grant. I've read about two thirds of the book and am thoroughly enjoying the story so far. This is an exciting novel with a gripping story; a book that is very difficult to put down. Helen Grant set this novel in a German town called Bad Münstereifel. Bad Münstereifel is a relatively small and normal village – where everyone hangs out. There is a sense of family in the village, as Pia says: “I remember my hometown as a place with a powerful sense of community. » On the other hand, Bad Münstereifel is also known for its gossip, because as they say, "small towns are full of gossip everywhere, but in Germany they make it an art form." This proves that gossip could have been a problem for many people in the small town. The main protagonist is a young girl called Pia Kolvenbach. She was an ordinary girl who led a normal life until the night her grandmother died. Since this incident, Pia has been teased at school and felt very alone. “Space seemed to yawn endlessly on all sides of me,” Pia said after her first day....
