    In the book, the author discusses different foods, families, and clothing from around the world. After reading the book, as a group we discussed different outfits and used large doll sticker books to dress children around the world. I would ask young children questions like: What do you wear on special occasions? I hope this creates a richly diverse dialogue about religion, although I cannot discuss specific details of each religion, I can provide a safe environment for children to share their differences. Then, in small groups, I had the children explore different cultures through dramatic play, using different clothing from around the world. However, I wouldn't let them "act" like the others, as this could turn the activity into an opportunity to stereotype verses exploring different cultures. We will discuss the different colors, textures and variations between costumes. Finally, I had the children color a picture of a person, they drew clothes to represent the different outfits and cultures they had just learned about.
