  • Essay / The Moral View - 1500

While some have changed my position on the moral view, others have not. Divine command theory is based on theism and the fact that humans need God's help to be good. A righteous action is an action that God commands to be good while an evil action is an action that God commands to be evil. This theory is impractical because it contradicts itself. God can command anything, whenever he wants, which would mean that he is arbitrary. This theory does not affect my position on the moral view because if it were to be a practical theory it would neither support nor deny the moral view. There is no balance to consider in this theory because God decides right and wrong for humans so they know what to do.
