The problem statement and business opportunityNowadays, boat instruments are mainly analog, the information is very scattered in the navigation panel, which makes it difficult for users to pay attention to all indicators and requires a lot of practice to fully control the boat. The reason behind these old fashion display instruments is that the marine industry is 5 years behind the automobile industry. Bosch Car Multimedia Portugal has a unique opportunity to develop these systems for boats, as it has already proven capable and successful in integrating them into the automotive sector. Moreover, Bosch could even improve the current system by integrating all the information coming from the sensors and turning it into a useful navigation support. Along with this lack of integration, we can see market trends moving in this direction with the recent release of new technologies like 3D. cartography, AIS support, integrated charts, multifunction and networking.
