    Technology in the Classroom As technology continues to grow in today's society, it seems to be finding its way into our children's classrooms . Although some technologies are useful, educators try to get children to use them more often than hands-on play. They want to make children use computer programs versus real-life experiences, which is not developmentally appropriate for any age. With the rise of technology, it's becoming increasingly difficult to stick to traditional gaming options, even though research has shown the negative effects of technology on young minds. Although the Internet is a risk in itself for many reasons, attempts to get young people to use it turn out to be a futile pursuit of something educational. The Internet is actually quite limited and shows that children do not benefit from it. So why have it in the classroom if it doesn't meet your children's needs? Children rely on their senses because they are stronger and more visible at younger ages. If you give children technology at home and at school, they will begin to depend on that source of technology, especially if it soothes their senses. Sound and visualizations are naturally very important, but when they are given an object that only distracts their mind instead of putting it to work, it is a pointless endeavor. Technology is something that is unresponsive or inactive. This doesn't turn out to be very good for developing physical or emotional experiences. When it comes to television, it goes without saying that children should not spend most of their day in front of it. Even for educational programs, learning and development is limited and does not have much value compared to real-life experiences. Social experiences with real adults and peers prove to be much more effective compared to a television program that is supposed to be interactive. That's not to say they're all bad, but know which is far preferable when something better is available. One of the causes of this misuse of technology is simply its rise in today's world. Something new always arises, one after the other. You get a new phone, and soon after, an even “better” one comes out. Phones are just one example of this sort of thing. iPads are being used in classrooms and Smartboards are starting to replace activity centers and activities. This takes away one-on-one communication with the teacher and with peers. My proposal is to exclude unnecessary technology used in the classroom (i.e. tablets, touch screens, smart boards, laptops) and simply use more reliable tools. This also includes useful and educational technologies, such as digital books, science tools for children, cameras, etc. These are things that can be used effectively later in life and good skills to learn for future references. This is of course not a simple solution. It would take a lot of persuasion to simply exclude the newly implemented technology..
