    While Melody discovered her spirituality through Buddhism, the community gained its spirituality through the neighborhood church. Based on Peck's psychological theory, Melody found herself in a confrontation between mental flexibility and mental rigidity (Zastrow & Kirst-Ashman, 2013, pp. 470-471). She completed her formal education and professional training and arrived at a set of beliefs about religion and politics. She also uses her previous experiences and responses to guide towards the solution to new problems.
