Essay / Role of social support in early adulthood - 1266
An individual feels comfortable in society when essential social support is offered to them. Most mental illnesses that occur in early adulthood in contemporary society are closely linked to inadequate social support. Good social support is useful in coping mechanisms as it helps prevent mental disorders and reduce the mortality rate. Happy members of society have good relationships with others, while those with poor relationships are often avoided and end up leading miserable and lonely lives. An individual who does not fit into society is considered an outcast who is not welcome to live with others. Finally, the vital role played by social support in coping mechanisms in early adulthood should be preserved in shaping happy and peaceful members of society.
