  • Essay / Parents going back to school creates a positive feeling...

I started going back to college a few semesters ago and noticed it immediately when I was doing my homework, reading or my discussions; my kids started sitting with me at the kitchen table, eager to do their homework. It used to be a chore to let my kids sit and focus on their studies because they wanted to go play, but now their main goal when they get home from school is to sit with Dad and do their duties with me. My kids get excited every time they get a good grade, when they have an assignment graded with a good grade they come home and the first thing they do is run up to me and show me their grade with bright eyes and a smile coming from ear to ear. Since I returned to college, their teachers have even made several comments that they perceived as a radical change in my children's attitude toward school. Because children's positive attitudes toward school often result in better behavior at school and fewer suspensions for disciplinary reasons. Children have higher self-esteem, are more disciplined, demonstrate higher aspirations and motivation towards school and children generally achieve better grades. test scores and attendance because they are more interested when their parents are back in school. Returning to school parents create a positive learning environment that encourages learning. I am a perfect example of how a returning to school parent creates a healthy and nurturing learning environment for their children . On my first day back at university, I have my books and my laptop; get the right light and sit at the table and I start doing my homework and discussions. My ten year old daughter comes up to me and asks "Dad, what are you doing", I look at her with a smile and I call her...... in the middle of a paper.. ....at our kitchen table until this Every day I could see improvement in grades, self-discipline, self-esteem, attendance and overall pride in everyone of their eyes with regard to their schooling. This cannot all be a coincidence; These outstanding accomplishments have not been seen only by myself, but every teacher who has had them in class has contacted my fiancé and I in one way or another to express their positive observations about how my children perceive the school as a whole. The fact that these improvements started the day I returned to school, were observed not only by my fiancé and I, but also by the entire staff at their school, can only lead me to one conclusion, namely that the return of parents to school creates a positive effect. learning environment for their children that results in many positive characteristics that benefit their daily school life.
