  • Essay / Gone with the Wind Movie Analysis - 673

1.Griffith presents the birth of a nation by telling the story of two families torn apart due to war. The Birth of a Nation was a melodrama film. Two families, the Camerons and the Stonemans, were the main characters in this film. This film leads to the reconstruction of the Ku Klux Klan. Griffith brought together both a love story and a war. The Birth of a Nation showed how the outbreak of war pitted brothers against each other. Families in the North and South were forced to sacrifice their sons because of the war. Despite the war, the former friends have turned against each other. Because of the war, the conflict between the North and the South worsened. This film shows black men being aggressive towards white people. As the world grew further and further apart, they blamed black people. After the Camerons defeated the black militia, the KKK was formed to protect southern women from black rapists. The KKK were seen as heroes but were in reality killers. This film was considered one of the racist films. It really showed you how bad racism was back then. How black people were treated and how white people viewed them. Ultimately, they wanted black people sent back to Africa. Gone with the Wind was a film about the daughter of a plantation owner. It takes place during the Civil War and the Reconstruction period. Scarlet discovers that the man she wants to marry is engaged to her cousin and accepts another man's proposal. Her husband died of illness during the war and left her a widow. After the Civil War, she took over her father's plantation but, due to lack of money, she married her sister's man and he took over to get more money on the plantation. Scarlet and Frank were attacked by the KKK and after becoming widowed for the second time, this should be a wonderful movie, but the ratings showed it wasn't what you thought. was, then you probably wouldn't see this movie because of how others saw it. DVDs and online markets can remake an old black and white film into a color film and it will not have the same message as before it was remade. More money is being spent on making new films. The old films contained more acting and the new films, to me, contained less acting and more drama. No one ever knows the overall message of a new film because it has so many different stories throughout the film. DVD and online markets can lead you to think that a movie may be one way but in reality it's another way. Color films have a wider range of effects and animations. DVDs make making a movie seem easy and simple. Old movies have a better plot and make you think more about what's happening in the movie..
