Obesity is a growing health problem that affects people all over the world, but do you know what obesity actually is? Or do you differentiate between overweight and obesity? Obesity is excess weight that develops over time when people consume excess calories stored in the body. As a result, people first become overweight and then obese. Although many people are aware of the causes of obesity, some people do not realize that the effects of obesity are complex and include: psychological and emotional disorders, physical illnesses, and a negative impact on the person's economy , each of which significantly affects the well-being and health of an obese person. Obese people are more likely to suffer from psychological and emotional disorders than those who are not obese. First, obese people may suffer from depression because they do not accept themselves because of their weight; they don't consider themselves as fit as others. Consequently, this leads to poor self-image and low self-esteem; each of them contributes to depression. Additionally, obese people may experience discrimination and loneliness due to their weight. Other people might tell them that obesity is their fault, or be called other names, like fat or bacon. In fact, they might be exposed to teasing and bullying. Their friends might elude them or they might have difficulty making new friends; These are all reasons why an obese person might feel discriminated against and lonely.
