  • Essay / Environmental Issues - 1267

Have you ever thought that something intended to aid human advancement could be potentially deadly at the same time? What about a disease considered “dead” that resurfaces and kills unsuspecting people? What about the fact that we, as human beings, are destroying the only place we can live, the earth? These questions seem scandalous, don't they? This is wrong, these issues are considered environmental problems that we will soon face. These problems are very serious and many people have no idea they exist. Having problems without even being aware of it is definitely a cause for destruction. As a people, we need to address the issues of antibiotic resistance, increasing disease, weapons being considered waste, and waste elimination and reduction. If nothing is done, these problems will become deadly problems in the near future. Many Americans get sick every day; this usually warrants a visit to the doctor. The doctor will usually examine the patient and prescribe an antibiotic. Antibiotics are used to solve medical problems. The massive use of antibiotics constitutes a threat to the population. They are very widely used and are starting to become contaminants in the environment. When used so frequently, antibiotics end up in sewers, septic tanks and even receiving waters. Because antibiotics are so abundant in these places, microbes are now becoming resistant to them. With all sterilization and sanitation precautions, we would not expect to come into contact with these microbes. The reality is that we do. We come into contact with these germs and sometimes get sick. Being sick means another trip to the doctor; but this time the antibiotics prescribed by the doctor will not work. This is because the microbes that caused the disease are resistant to drugs, given that they are very abundant in the microbes' breeding areas. In order to treat the disease, doctors must evaluate their patients more effectively and choose other treatment methods before prescribing antibiotics. If the amount of antibiotics released into the environment can be reduced, there will no longer be a time when simple infections cannot be treated. Conditions that cannot be treated with antibiotics are called infectious diseases; they are on the rise and killing more than 17 million people...... middle of paper ...... due to carbon fuels and education on the causes, impacts and solutions of this problem. The development of reusable energy alternatives, reduction and recycling of solid waste, and waste prevention are effective solutions that should be implemented. The management of agricultural systems as well as energy efficiency could contribute to the prevention and reduction of greenhouse gases. When these programs and ideas are implemented and discussed as solutions, this problem can be addressed effectively and ultimately brought under control. To discuss the issues of climate change, we must address the causes, the influence on society and the likely solutions. In the coming months, presidential candidates will have to address many issues; To solve these problems and get the message across to Americans, an effective presentation must be used. To effectively present the issue of climate change, and almost any issue, one must address the causes, effects and..
