NIC HazingIntroduction:Hazing is a very dangerous form of bullying. Hazing a person generally refers to rituals and other activities involving harassment, abuse, or humiliation used as a means of initiating a person into a group. Most forms of hazing could have been a bonding or testing process taken too far. The intention of hazing is to make it a team building activity or to bring some unity within a group. The reality of hazing is not a unified team building action. Fraternities that are part of the North American Interfraternity Conference or NIC and those that are not may be at risk for this term called hazing. The NIC is a group of collegiate men who govern their own national fraternities and memberships. This organization, while large and careful in its profession, may overlook the fact that hazing is a reality and a recurring theme in fraternities around the world. The problem with the majority of hazing groups is that the idea of hazing is used as a scapegoat for intentional bullying or torture. Although hazing can initially be positive and promote unity, it can easily cross boundaries and become bullying or threatening. If adolescents can learn that all forms of hazing today are terrible attempts to create unity, then they will know that hazing can be particularly dangerous and counterproductive to promoting unity within a group when It's time to go to university. Hazing is and was a practice used by many organizations such as fraternities, sororities, sports teams, and the military. Although hazing is used by all to promote unity and togetherness, it actually puts extreme pressure on those who engage in it. Hazing in high school can be very detrimental to a child's health. When hazing occurs early, more and more effects are left afterward, which is most disturbing. Conclusion: The hazing process should never be a last resort, nor an option. The effects of hazing are similar to those of harassment. It's often the case that someone questions the choices they've made and the life they've lived. In cases of voluntary participation in hazing, people put themselves through unnecessary hardships in order to satisfy the amusement of others. There could be a team building process that could bring people together, but at what cost? The answer to this question is that there is no reason, it is just for the satisfaction of others.
