Essay / Essay on History of Health Care Industry
The health care industry is the rapid growth in health care spending, cost of care and quality of care, budget cuts and health insurance. As a country, we must recognize and focus on the issues of concern. Here is a list of future challenges and changes that could play an important role in the healthcare sector: (Many challenges have already emerged; this is strategic planning that the government can oversee and take positive approaches to future) • Employee work ethics - the younger generation does not have the work ethic, abilities and experience of what the job is like what the older generation(s) do/did. Declining job performance and the temptation to work for that dollar has become bothersome for many. • Shortage of health professionals: the economy is expanding to provide enough personnel in this processional career to care for the population. With the recent health care reform law, additional Americans are now covered by health insurance, and more people have access to benefits as would be expected. • Aging population – older people are working longer, but unfortunately younger people are becoming more ill and disabled. There is a significant portion of Medicare and Medicaid funding that funds the elderly and disabled. A concern is whether there will be enough significant funds or whether funding cuts will be required and where the shortage will surface.
