Merriam-Webster defines the word democracy as a government of the people, a government of the majority, a government in which supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through government. system of representation generally involving periodic free elections. It is a government designed so that people can choose to govern themselves and others within their community or even their nation on political, economic and welfare-related matters of their survival. A democracy is a great thing that can be perfected with a perfect nation. Unfortunately, a perfect nation is as difficult to build and implement as climbing a banana slug up the 1,860 steps of the Empire State Building in New York. Democracy is not the best form of government for all nations. Nations can be divided into two distinct categories when it comes to economically balanced countries, first world countries and third world countries. In a first world country, such as the United States of America (democracy), Canada, Great Britain, and most of modern Europe, the country "succeeds" in its attempts to survive with profitable results by keeping their countrymen free from famine, widespread disease and poverty by exporting more goods than they import and by having a government system that works for the people through a government that looks out for them and has to mind his well-being. In a third world country, the economy is underdeveloped and has no option but to grow in that direction. These countries are stricken with poverty, disease, exhausted environment and full of war and violence deep within themselves...... middle of paper...... people things which seem unimaginable to them and which will very probably be elected. for this just so that he can win the race on the steroids of lies and deception. Democracy is not a fair thing for a nation like this. Our democratic society has reached a level of social, economic and technological progress where we have a standard for the most basic things, so how can a nation that sees a meal of value from McDonalds as a 5 star diner, survive in the same democracy as us? Democracy is a great thing and freedom is not even a question, but not all nations have the capacity to use it, understand it and reap its full benefits. A democratic nation must have the knowledge to understand its economic problems and their solutions, as well as the strength to stand firm on itself with the help of its people and, as is known, not all nations are capable to do it..
