STANDARDS CERTIFICATIONNowadays, one of the most important problems that companies face is the high level of competition in markets, whether national or international. The globalized world in which we live pushes companies to look for different ways to differentiate themselves from other companies, whether to differentiate their products, their processes, their services. This differentiation, combined with increasing business quality, is what lays the foundation for customer satisfaction. Companies need to demonstrate that they are able to successfully meet the specified requirements of their customers. The way to achieve this is through the use of international standards, which ensure that the company has the quality needed to achieve its goals and gives the client the confidence to entrust the work to that company. ISO, the International Organization for Standardization, is the international body. which sets global standards for manufacturing, trade and communication. Companies that follow ISO standards not only get the assurance that they can meet their customers' requirements, but they also get different benefits provided by these standards. International Standards bring technological, economic and societal benefits. Several studies carried out by different authors conclude that International Standards bring benefits to those who follow them. In a business setting, these Standards provide a guideline to businesses, giving them the opportunity to save money by optimizing operations, increasing customer satisfaction, entering new markets, increasing productivity and reducing negative impacts on the environment. This standard, accepted worldwide, sets the requirements for obtaining and developing an effective occupational health and safety management system. There was a time when there were several national standards and different certifications. This has caused confusion in the market and created trade barriers. To address this issue, an international collaboration called the Occupational Health and Safety Advisory Services (OHSAS) Project Group was formed to create a single unified approach. Building on the best existing standards and programs, the OHSAS Project Group released the OHSAS 18000 series in 1999. The series included two specifications, 18001 and 18002.
