    Legalization of [LGBT] marriages nationwide? This is one of the biggest controversies of the last decade. Every human being should have the right to love and be with who they consider to be their human being to complete them and marry; regardless of their gender. Within the gay community, we gays don't really understand why we can't get equal marriage rights nationwide. If government and society took religion out of the equation, what could we say? The fact that gay people want to get married doesn't affect anyone, it's a more acceptable way of life these days, it can also increase adoption rates, and the only thing that should matter is the love that humans have for their loved ones. Yes, I am pro-Gay Rights, every homosexual couple should be treated equally and given all the rights and privileges that a heterosexual couple has. Marriage ? Marriage is taking someone as a wife or husband. The revised definition is the formal union of a man and a woman. Same-sex couples who want to marry are showing that they want a lifelong commitment to each other, just as heterosexuals legally do, not an order of domestic partnerships. The Human Rights Campaign Foundation states that many same-sex couples “want the right to legally marry. get married [and] honor their relationship in the best way our society can offer…” (Gay). Having same-sex marriages legally does not harm anyone or society. It's an ultimate expression of love and a personal wish that's really no one's business. Today, same-sex marriage is considered a civil right, not only that, but also "one of the major civil rights struggles of our time," said the (NAACP) National Association for Gay Rights. advancement of people of color.
