Jain and Jain renunciates are very dedicated to the practice of ahimsa, or nonviolence. They are very aware of the world around them and what will happen to their karma if they harm life. Jains eventually try to purge any negative karma they may have accumulated during their lifetime. Through their dedication to non-violence, Jains work tirelessly to ensure that their intentional actions will not harm anything or anyone. Many objects and traditions are linked to objects found in their environment. Jains coexist with the world and wish to be part of it and not leave a trace. Through their practice of ahimsa, Jains have formed a unique relationship and way of life with the world around them.
