This was a very eye-opening film that made me rethink slavery. The director does an incredible job of making the film historically accurate and seems to show every angle of slavery. I feel like I learned about how slaves were treated. They were considered property, but not valuable possessions. Slaves were also judged beyond their strength. An intelligent slave can be considered as valuable as a strong slave. The last thing I learned from this movie is that not all slave owners and their workers are cruel to slaves.
