    Poverty is one of the biggest problems facing the world today. The poverty plaguing the most underdeveloped countries like Kenya, Africa greatly affects citizens due to diseases spreading throughout the state, lack of medical supplies needed by every doctor, water unsanitary and a very insufficient quantity of food. The health and well-being of the citizens of Kenya and Africa is horrible, many of the diseases that are spreading are very serious and can sooner or later lead to death. Thanks to Kenya's abundant water sources, Kenya experiences a high rate of waterborne diseases. Most of these waterborne diseases are not found in developed countries due to sophisticated water systems that filter and chlorinate water to eliminate all disease-carrying organisms. Bacteria and tiny worms live naturally in water, but some can carry diseases that can be very devastating to humans. Many young children in Kenya and Africa, mostly under the age of five, die from these waterborne diseases. One in five children die from waterborne diseases. Kenyans can also contract mosquito-borne diseases. Malaria affects around eight million people each year. Kenya is trying to combat malaria, but has little knowledge of the disease and a lack of diagnostic equipment needed by health facilities. Most people with this disease do not try hard enough to prevent it; They do not sleep under insecticide-treated mosquito nets, which prevents mosquitoes from biting them at night. Additionally, women who during pregnancy do not take antimalarial medications to help prevent the disease.
