Essay / Different Generations in the World - 1125
In the grand scheme of things, one person cannot make a big difference in the world. However, when millions of people of similar ages and opinions come together for a common cause, they are called a generation. There are many different generations in the world today, but the three most prevalent generations are Baby Boomers, Generation X, and Generation Y. Generations are most differentiated by the time period in which they were born, as well than by the attitudes they have about their place in the world. For many, the baby boom generation is nothing more than a generation of outdated and disconnected people. who went through their lives stoned. However, the Boomer generation was much more than that. It was a generation of influential people, a generation of people who, in the wake of the “Greatest Generation,” brought about a cultural revolution. Although many people have different opinions on when the baby boom began, the United States Census Bureau considers they were born between 1946 and 1964. Baby boomers were born to adults of the greatest generation and, due to their upbringing in post-World War II prosperity, they were somewhat spoiled. However, the Boomer generation's greatest strength comes not from their perseverance in the face of great trials, although they have experienced many, but from their rejection of traditional ideals of racism and sexism (Stienhorn 16). For many people in the Boomer generation, ideals such as equality and coexistence reigned above all others. Baby boomers were responsible for beginning the decline of racism and sexism in America, giving rise to the black and women's rights movements. They have begun to end intolerance in the modern world ... middle of paper ... its generations can take center stage. Today's generations can start making the world a better place.
