  • Essay / The applicability of the film, Crash, To Race...

The problem with race relations is that it is a very sensitive subject with negative aspects present in New York. The film “Crash” demonstrates a good disruption of race relations in a very populated city. Some people have taken a stand against the film and questioned whether it truly depicts the relationship between the police and the minority community. While others have found a distinct connection to the relationship between the NYPD and the minority community in relation to the film, I agree with this perspective. Some scenes in the film show what really happens in some people's daily lives. It shows the difficulties that individuals face every day, whether they are authority figures or civilians. The film "Crash" applies very well to race relations in New York in its direct and relevant approach to daily life in a city populated by diverse races and ethnicities. In “Crash,” there are many scenes where race relations were either an issue or a problem. the basis of an action. Most of the incidents in the film are due to an individual's race. Corresponding to the movie "Crash", there are times in New York where individuals are stopped by the police simply because of their race. Arresting people based on their race can have negative effects on people, as it did on some characters in "Crash." There are also times in daily life when someone may experience a troubling incident and then pass judgment on others based on their race. It was interesting to see how the characters in the film influence each other, knowingly or unknowingly. In everyday life, individuals are affected by the actions of others, that is how the world unfolds. The character... middle of paper ... person's point of view. People should learn to consider both sides of the spectrum and try to understand the difficulties that individuals face, especially members of minorities. If the relationship between the NYPD and the minority community could be more understanding and if everyone tried to work together, things could be better. Better race relations can be a difficult task, but “Crash” shows how lives can intersect at any time and the impact that can have. The consequences of the incidents involving race in "Crash" may not be the same as the consequences in real life, but the eye-opening nature of the film can benefit society in many ways.
