Essay / Negative and Negative Effects of Immigration - 1469
Immigrants negatively affect the U.S. economy in different ways. The main effect comes from undocumented immigrants, who receive their benefits primarily in cash, so they are not subject to the federal tax deduction, according to Andrew Wallace in The Immigration Debate. Some undocumented immigrants pay federal taxes because they have false information and barely earn anything and their contributions are insignificant. Many Americans say these immigrants waste the government money because they receive benefits ranging from education to health care. In reality though, the government doesn't lose money because much of what undocumented workers earn is put back into the economy through their purchases and low tantrums, driving down prices for Americans.
