Essay / The Theory of Knowledge - 1219
Human beings have a thirst for knowledge, which leads to evolution and the creation of knowledge. We gain knowledge through sense perception, reason, language, and emotion. Each of these determinants can be influenced by personal background, feelings, incomplete reasoning methods, etc. Therefore, this essay will analyze the above question through two fields of knowledge, history and religion. Knowledge acquired today can easily be abandoned tomorrow for various reasons. The concept of time is different and today is considered the present while tomorrow is understood as the future. Many real examples and problems have shown that knowledge acquired today can be discarded tomorrow. For example, on the one hand, history has changed because of historians' own versions of history, and on the other hand, believers of a certain religion can believe in their holy book. History, the study of the past, is a great way to examine whether or not knowledge acquired today can be discarded today. In the past, this has happened when researchers discovered something that later turned out to be different. As an example, Germany has long been considered the main reason for the outbreak of World War I, but historians have gathered more evidence and found a different answer (Encyclopaedia Britannica, 2014), than writers from history, however, are not convinced. always reliable sources and they can write their own versions, which can affect the course of history. If the historian is biased on a certain point, which we call confirmation bias, he will write it in history books and stay there, until the other party or the historians analyzing this subject discover both sides of history. For ins...... middle of paper ......arded over time. However, people with religious beliefs may not believe it because they may think that whatever is written in their holy book is the absolute truth and it will never change because it is a message from God and it is one of the few symbols of God on Earth. We can also believe that knowledge evolves over time rather than being discarded. However, this essay was not fully analyzed since only two areas of knowledge were assessed, history and ethics.
