Art surrounds our factory from one cost to another and changes our vision of the world. Even though it seems that we still cannot distinguish art from mockery, it forces us to look at the ugly side of a modern art that is vulgar. Graffiti is a term that comes from the Italian word meaning to scratch known as graffio (“Graffiti”. Issues and controversies). Street art, as some call it, has become very popular among those who want to become artists; However, there is a problem: it is illegal. The law should not tolerate this type of art because it is destructive to the public. Graffiti should not be considered a legal art form because it is vandalism. The first reason graffiti is not art is because it harms our community and our own property. In Fremantle, Australia, graffiti vandalism is considered a criminal offense (“Graffiti Vandalism”). Graffiti has a major effect on property and business values by reducing expected value (“Graffiti”. Issues and Controversies). This is the value of the property, and it can change significantly depending on how the property is treated. To maintain property value, homeowners will have to pay big bucks, or fetal construction taxpayers will have to contribute expensive expenses to keep the community from appearing unprofessional (“Graffiti.” Issues and Controversies). These violations of public order regarding graffiti in America have given rise to anti-graffiti (“Graffiti”) campaigns. These campaigns have been used to try to stop graffiti; nevertheless, it has quite the opposite effect. It seems that the artists took these campaigns as a challenge, and therefore became rebellious, influenced by the thrill of this illegal art form (“Graffiti”).
