“In the United States alone, approximately 1,825 college students die from unintentional alcohol-related injuries and 1.2 and 1.5 percent admit to attempting to commit suicide due to alcohol consumption” (Binge Drinking in College). The factors of excessive alcohol consumption eventually add up and brain misconception can lead to deaths. “In 2014, Tucker Arnold, who attended Texas Tech, lost his life in a car accident with an extreme amount of alcohol in his system” (Recent Alcohol-Related Student Deaths). Another report was released a week after Arnold's death: "Dalton Debrick, only 18 years old at the time, died after becoming unconscious from alcohol poisoning" (Recent Student Deaths Related to alcohol). These are just a few examples of how getting caught in the party scene can actually be deadly.
