Essay / Technology: Life Without Technology - 1216
Walk into a bank and look at all the security cameras around. Security systems are behind the counter and around the building. You may notice the 9-1-1 call buttons; some may even have an armed security guard at the door. Now put yourself in the shoes of a cashier. A strange man walks up, holds a gun and tells them to give them all the money in the register. The cashier then presses the button to send a signal to the police that it is being stolen. Within minutes, police are there and they either catch the guy, ask him lots of questions, or ask him for the security tapes. Thanks to these records, they can even obtain the identity of the thief. Imagine not having technology in these situations. Without cameras and police buttons, how would the police know how to do this? The thief may have even shot someone knowing he wasn't being filmed. Having this technology allows workers to feel safer even in an unsafe situation..
