    Currently, according to health standards, my weight is unhealthy and is considered obese. Obesity is defined as an individual having a lot of excess body weight, which does not come from muscle and bone, but rather from excess fat. Being obese puts me at higher risk of developing weight-related health problems, such as high blood pressure, heart disease, and some forms of cancer (“Assessing Your Weight,” 2015). Increased weight-related risk, as well as genetic risk factors for developing diabetes, encourage me to pursue change in my current life.
