Introduction1.1 Background of the StudyIndustrialization came into widespread use after the European Industrial Revolution of the 18th century, where individual labor was replaced by mechanized mass production and artisans by an assembly line. It is partly for this reason that industrialization has been seen as the path to economic growth in many countries. Industrialization was highlighted as the main axis of economic development. Industries have been seen not only as a harbinger of economic growth, but also as a means of reducing regional disparities. The objective of the Industrial Development Corporations of Gujarat has been to plan and implement industrial zones in backward regions to achieve economic and social development. The underlying assumption was that industrial development would be followed not only by the provision of physical infrastructure, but also gradually by the provision of social infrastructure, which would lead to an improvement in the quality of life.
