Tupac Shakur is also another man that some would call an icon. Although these two men had different ways of expressing themselves, they both had the same idea, which was that racism must end. Martin Luther King Jr. was both an activist and a pastor. Martin Luther King Jr. was an activist for equality for all. He had an honest understanding of discrimination while attending a segregated school. He chose to reach people by speaking to them directly. In his speech, I Have a Dream, Martin Luther King Jr. said: "I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: 'We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal”… I dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.
