    Growing up, were you captivated by the intriguing world of technology or by the beauty of nature? Children today are so caught up in the rapid improvement of technology that they spend the majority of their time on electronic components. The rapid advancement of technology; fascinating but brutal, hinders the physical, social and intellectual stimulation of children. Excessive use of technology is detrimental because it influences a decrease in inactivity, while causing unhealthy development in children. Faced with this concern, we must raise awareness among our threatened modern generation. It is ultimately up to adults to set limits for children, insinuating that this will avoid complications related to misuse of technology. As the rise of technology continues to expand, the physical condition of children is troubled. Physical health is a crucial issue when talking about the developmental stages of a child's life. Pediatric occupational therapist Cris Rowan advises, “Childhood obesity and diabetes are now national epidemics in Canada and the United States, causally linked to the overuse of technology” (Rowan). The role technology plays in a child's early childhood is no joke. Similarly, studies have linked “…that the availability of technology contributes to a sedentary lifestyle and weight gain in children” (Cespedes). Individuals are prone to ignorance when it comes to the frightening measurements of obesity. The lack of knowledge is worrying because, sooner or later, it can cause new worries and dangerous risks.
