    The Modern FamilyIn September 2009, America discovered Modern Family, a mockumentary centered on three families ("Modern Family"). Like most sitcoms, Modern Family is a show that defines our current times, especially the families of our times. Generally, television aims to please its viewers by broadcasting shows that accurately reflect the lives of its viewers. As family values ​​evolve, so does television content (Manousos). For example, the American family is glorified in the 1950s series Leave it to Beaver. The mother stays at home and takes care of the children while the husband works to support his family. Leave it to Beaver embodies the average family of the 1950s and reflects the conservative ideals of the time. Additionally, Modern Family accurately glorifies families of the current era and succeeds in depicting real families rather than depicting conservative and predictable families of the past. Modern Family centers around three families but each family is connected to each other in some way. A family is an unmarried same-sex couple who have adopted two children. Another family consists of an interracial marriage in which the wife is significantly younger than her husband's daughter. The third family constitutes the average family in the plot, composed of a husband, a housewife and three children. Although they have the makings of an average family, there is an undeniable tension between the children as each of them has completely different personalities ("The Bicycle Thief"). The writers successfully provide viewers with a glimpse of not only a progressive family, but also a tolerant one. This idea of ​​an accepting family plays a key role in the plot of the series.
