Since kindergarten, I have always been interested in physical education. Physical Education (PE) has always been my favorite class in school because it is all about physical exercise and fitness. The aim of this research is first to define physical education. Next, I will explore the history of physical education. In the following section, I will compare and contrast the physical education curriculum from the past to the present. Next, a description of the educational requirements to become a physical education teacher will be given. Finally, I will share a reflection on my experience with a real physical education teacher. Being a physical education teacher is the career I want, so why not do some research and move forward?What is physical education?What is physical education? In simple terms, Wikipedia defines it as “training in the development and care of the human body.” Everyone needs physical education to maintain a healthy body and mind. Some people just don't understand how physical education can help you maintain the right mentality. The most important thing in physical education is the curriculum, or how the students are going to be taught. The State of Ohio does not have a specific program for physical education at the elementary, middle, high school, and high school levels. School districts have the choice to use their own curriculum. The State of Ohio is required to provide physical education to all students from elementary through high school. From kindergarten through eighth grade, schools must offer physical education as part of their curriculum.
