Grade 7, Block FZosia KrajewskaResearch-Based Argumentative EssayImagine a ton of overweight students, carrying their books, walking slowly down the hallway. Now imagine you come from another school, come visit us, and then look at these kids. Not a very pleasant sight. Wouldn't it be so much nicer to see a group of children who are smiling, sporty, fresh and ready to learn? Well, guess what? Competition and athletics are exactly what the school needs. Students benefit from playing competitive sports at school. They acquire skills throughout their lives! What about their improvement in education? Or a higher fitness level? There are only advantages! Every sport is good for children. Plus, they spend less time surfing the internet, slouching, which ruins their eyesight. In schools, playing sports is free, so why not exercise, compete with friends and feel some sports adrenaline? the more students play sports. In fact, various studies have been done all over the world that have confirmed the above. For example, a recent multi-year study by the American Heart Association found that 30 years ago, children were 15% healthier than those today. This would mean that over a kilometer they would be 90 seconds faster than today's children. This study shows that students need more exercise and everyone can see it clearly. The good thing is that at the high school level, sports participation continues to increase. The National Federation of State High School Associations estimates that more than 7.6 million high school students, or more than 55 percent, played sports during the 2010-2011 school year. It can be said that some children's parents do not have enough money...... middle of paper ......o. Additionally, some people claim that sports give children greater self-esteem through running. They may become hyperactive and not focus on academics. This is also false because studies show that competitive sports lead to lower self-esteem in students because kids run around and get tired, so they sit still and really concentrate. Additionally, students could be seriously injured. But how many injuries are there compared to academic improvement? This is why all the cons are false? Additionally, as mentioned earlier, academics do not suffer. Children will have fresher brains! Ultimately, sports are a very good thing at school. These important and permanent abilities would stay with people forever. Their academics WILL NOT suffer, but their grades WILL INCREASE and their fitness levels will increase, so they will live longer. Sport is part of the program.
